Michael Jackson - A Music Icon

Within the same week at the destruction of the Georgia Theater, we lose an even more prominent musical icon: Michael Jackson. If you haven't already heard, the King of Pop died yesterday after being found unconscious and not breathing in Los Angeles, CA. Twitter and Facebook blew up with news of his hospitalization and rumors of his death.

I still can't believe it.

So many of us grew up listening to his music. He was part of our childhood and influenced us in so many ways. He was the greatest recording artist and entertainer of our time. He was the superstar of planet Earth. He changed the world.

MJ lived a hard and messed up life and although he was plagued with controversies and allegations later in his career, I truly believe that he will be remembered for his music.

Double inductee in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. 13 Grammy Awards and number one singles. Countless other awards. Over 750 million records sold worldwide. Ultimately, he did what wanted and didn't let anything stop him.

He will be missed.
